THIS OLD HOUSE® - Season 41 - The Cape Ann House

Our fourth collaboration with This Old House was also with longtime Venegas clients, a family outgrowing their Beacon Hill condo and seeking more outdoor space and room to entertain and host family. In collaboration with architecture and interiors team SV Design we designed not only the kitchen and butler’s pantry but millwork for the entire home.

Kitchen

Relocated to a more central location in the home, this family friendly kitchen is ready for large scale entertaining or

casual family dinners. Traditional inset cabinets in a custom saturated color are accented by brass, warm wood, and a

practical porcelain countertop and backsplash.

Butler’s Pantry

The stylish higher sheen butler’s pantry provides storage to display glassware and china with ample counter space to set

up food service or a drink station.

1 st floor office

The command center off the kitchen makes the most out of a small space with magnetic wallpaper to hang important

messages and pictures, and storage for paperwork, a printer, and other office supplies.

Mudroom

Wire mesh front lockers, ample coat closet storage, and a spot to drop keys and mail make this mudroom a clutter-free

zone.

Family Room

Brass accents and bold colors are repeated in the family room, with open shelving framing the TV and storage below for

toys and games.

Master bath

Synthetic white leather fronts add texture without sacrificing practicality. Vanity storage is maximized with U-shaped

drawer boxes to fit around plumbing.

Caroline’s Bath

A custom metallic glazes adds a subtle hint of pink for this little girl’s bathroom. The pullout step stool makes

handwashing easy at any age.

John’s Office

The office makes working from home a dream with a custom live edge Grothouse walnut desk with a hidden built in

outlet channel to conceal wires.
